Ski touring on Mount Seymour on the Shore

The weather forecast was pretty good. We discussed on Friday night where we want to go. We talked to go to Mt. Baker but couldn't be bothered and decided to ski tour on the local hills. Since there is still a ton of snow it should be good.

Mount Seymour is not far away from our place. Actually you can see it from our backyard. Still you have to drive 30kms, 15km to the base of the mountain and another 15km up to the parking lot on 1000m. UBC and Vancouver Island in the back.

Seppel skinning up.

It was warm, in town they said about 20°. Seppel had only a t-shirt on and put his pants up.

Reaching the top, getting ready for a short run.

My favourite picture. Skiing the local hills and Mt. Baker in the back ground.

Kerstin first said: You are crazy that you always want to ski that stuff. Later on she went up the same track and see what she did.

Kerstin taking her skins off on the Peak!

Skiing a even sicker line.

We continued to skin up since we wanted to get to the First Pump.

On the top. Vancouver behind us. Don't kill me with your skis.

We continued a bit on the ridge. The snow wasn't amazing since it was so warm. The views were quite nice. This picture is looking north.

Since we skied down too far we had to put skins back on and hike up again.

Too steep to ski?

Skis are on the ski rack. Should we take the ski rack off and put the bike racks on? Well, you never know if there will be more snow. It has been a crazy season.
